Rex the T-Rex

What’s new in the Playroom

Every dinosaur says its name, and a tap shows every game

New!
  • Styracosaurus, Oviraptor, Brachiosaurus, Dilophosaurus, Iguanodon and Protoceratops now say their names too.
  • Tap an empty spot in any game and every game shows up along the bottom, like tapping a video. The game keeps going underneath.
Older updates

Monkeys in the jungle and a star streak

  • Dino Dash: Monkeys swing from the palm trees and a toucan waves along the Jungle Run. Grab stars in a row and Rex runs faster and faster!
  • Dino Dance Party: Every voice is the same loudness now, so the songs are no longer drowned out by the talking.

Dino Dash gets wings, power and music

  • Dino Dash: Look out! A Pterodactyl swoops down the path. Dodge it! The first trail is longer now, and every trail speeds up as you go.
  • Dino Dash: Grab the lightning bubble for Super Dash: Rex zooms, smashes rocks and every star flies to him. Plus Dino Dash has its own running music.
  • Dino Dash: Pick a trail on the big jungle pyramid and watch Rex hop up the stairs. On the lava trails, the floor is lava: run back!
  • Flip & Find: Next goes to the bigger level first: 4 pairs, then 5, then 6, then the next game.
  • Dino Dance Party: In Disco Rex, Rex really dances now: steps, grooves and moves across the floor, and watch for the moment he pulls down his sunglasses and winks at you!

Made for the iPad: big game cards and the whole screen for playing

  • A new Pick a game screen on a sunny dinosaur beach, with big painted cards, three at a time, and one big yellow arrow for more.
  • Dino Sing-Along: The games get the whole screen. Tap the little tab at the bottom to see all the games, and every game shows them all again at the end.
  • Next starts by itself after 4 seconds instead of 8, and one tap on the back arrow goes back.

Every game now has all the games along the bottom

  • While you play, every game sits in a row of pictures at the bottom of the screen, Rex Run too. One tap opens another game.
  • When you finish, the biggest button is Next: a ring fills around the play button and the next song, trail or game starts by itself, like a video. Play again is still right underneath.
  • Dino Sing-Along: The songs are quieter, and the Pick a game screen is calm now: no music and no jungle sounds, just a hello.

New game: Dino Egg Hunt, in 3D

  • Dino Egg Hunt: Spin a little 3D island to find eggs hiding behind trees, bushes and rocks. Tap an egg and a dinosaur hatches: T-Rex in sunglasses, Triceratops, Stegosaurus or Pterodactyl, made in 3D from the paintings in our book.

Every Sing-Along song is now sung, in pop-up books

  • Dino Sing-Along: The Dinosaur ABC: every letter pops up off the page the moment it is sung, then A is for apple, B is for bounce, C is for cookie, D is for dino, with their sounds.
  • Dino Sing-Along: Johnny, Johnny, Yes Papa: Papa Rex and baby Johnny in a pop-up kitchen with the sugar bowl, the cookie jar, brushing teeth and a big dino hug.
  • Dino Sing-Along: If You're Happy and You Know It: clap, stomp, roar and wag your tail with Rex while more dinosaur friends join the party in a pop-up meadow.

Rosie's world moves, and every dance song has its own page

  • Dino Dance Party: In the Rosie Saurus Rex song the sky world now keeps moving behind the stage, like a green-screen dance video: floating islands, balloons, clouds, music notes and letter blocks drift past as the magic lift rises, a Pterodactyl flies by, and it all goes faster in the finale.
  • Dino Dance Party: Every Dance Party song now has its own page you can share, like claselearning.com/play/dance/rosie-saurus-rex.

Twinkle, Twinkle in space, and a page for every song

  • Dino Sing-Along: Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star is now sung, in a magical pop-up space book: the sun sets, the stars come out, Rex in his pajamas watches the little star, then Rocket Rex flies up past the planets, draws a dinosaur out of stars, and comes home under a shower of falling stars. Tap the sky to make a falling star!
  • Dino Sing-Along: Every song now has its own page you can share, like claselearning.com/play/sing/twinkle-twinkle-little-star.

Mac Dino's farm is a pop-up book, and the bus has its wheels

  • Dino Sing-Along: Mac Dino's Farm is now a pop-up storybook: the barn, the pond and the animals stand up off the page, piglets, ducklings, chicks, a hen, a puppy and a little foal join in, and Mac Dino cheers and stomps along. Tap anything on the farm (even the sun and the clouds) to make it dance.
  • Dino Sing-Along: The Wheels on the Bus picture has its wheels back on.

Rosie Saurus Rex takes the stage

  • Dino Dance Party: In the Rosie Saurus Rex song, watch for the big red dinosaur: first she peeks in, then she roars, and halfway through Rex walks off so Rosie can dance. Tap the buttons to see her own moves, like a flip, a double twirl and a hip shake. Rex comes back for the big finish.

Sing-along rhymes, Dino Dash, and a simpler Playroom

  • Dino Sing-Along: A new game! Dino Sing-Along: The Wheels on the Bus, Old MacDino Had a Farm, Twinkle Twinkle, the Dinosaur ABC, Johnny Johnny Yes Papa and If You're Happy and You Know It, acted out by dancing dinosaurs. The words light up one by one so you can sing them together; the dinosaurs' own singing voices are coming soon.
  • Dino Dash: A new game! Dino Dash: Rex runs right at you down the jungle path. Tap the big arrows to dodge the rocks and logs and grab the stars. Fifteen stars win the run, then it goes a little faster. Nobody ever loses.
  • Dino Dance Party: Dino Dance Party has three new, faster songs that sing the moves out loud: Jungle Bounce, Disco Rex and Rocket Roar.
  • The Playroom shows five games in one row. Swipe, or tap the one big orange arrow to see more.
  • Rex Run: Rosalina now talks from the top corner while you play, so there is no more waiting. One big button on every card, and you pick a player first, then a level.
  • Grown-ups: the back arrow is press-and-hold now (a quick tap just says "Hold to go back"), and Rex Run's Easy / Big Kid switch lives behind the lock.

Dance party, and an iPad-ready Playroom

  • Dino Dance Party: A new game! Pick a song and tap the big dance buttons to make Rex jump, spin, stomp, wiggle, get down and roar, right on the beat.
  • Dino Dance Party: When a dino friend says "Copy me!", copy the move to bring them to the party. Three songs: fast, bouncy and slow.
  • The Playroom now fits one iPad screen: swipe the games sideways or tap a dinosaur at the bottom. Nothing scrolls away.
  • Flip & Find: Stuck? A pair now glows and peeks at you to help. Back to one player, with 4, 5 or 6 pairs.
  • Where's the Dino?: All the cups are the same color now, so the only thing to find is the dinosaur.
  • Grown-ups: press and hold the lock to read how to play, the FAQ and what's new.

Play together, more dinos!

  • Where's the Dino?: A new game! Watch the cups swap places, then find the hidden dinosaur. Pick Easy, Speedy or Tricky.
  • Flip & Find: New 5-pair board: pick 4, 5 or 6 pairs.
  • Flip & Find: Play with up to 5 players. Take turns, and find a pair to go again!
  • Flip & Find: Six new dinosaurs from the book: Brachiosaurus, Dilophosaurus, Iguanodon, Protoceratops, Styracosaurus and Oviraptor.
  • Shadow Match-Up: Pick a mode first: Easy, Moving (the shadows wiggle around) or Tricky (some shadows have no dinosaur).
  • Color Time: New Scribble mode: draw with your finger, or tap to fill like before. The crayon box lines up neatly now.
  • Softer sounds, and fewer cheers in a row.

The Dino Playroom opens

  • Three free games: Flip & Find, Shadow Match-Up and Color Time.
  • Flip & Find: Cards peek face-up before every round, so little ones can get ready.
  • Grown-up lock, music on/off, a volume slider, and Add to iPad.
